As part of activities under the framework of the 2017 Vietnam Day in Spain, the event also aims to celebrate the 40 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Spain.

The troupe’s shows will feature distinctive cultural characteristics of Vietnamese people through everyday stories.

Founded in 1969 with an initial group of about 20 puppeteers, the Thang Long Water Puppetry group has performed in many countries throughout the world.

In addition to water-puppetry performances, art performances including cheo (traditional Opera), xam singing (ancient folk songs performed by blind beggars), chau van (spiritual signing) and solo performances of traditional instruments will be held during the event.
 

The programme is expected to help Spanish people gain more understanding of Vietnam’s culture along with promoting the traditional friendship between the two peoples.
